Canoeing (or titting around on Tittisworth Reservoir)

By Dan - Posted on 19 April 2010

Table arranged a trip to Tittisworth reservoir near Leek so that we could do a little bit of canoeing and pass away the late evening sunshine with a gentle paddle around the lake...

(Sorry about the quality of the pics. They were taken on an old waterproof disposable camera. Not the best combo for budding Lord Litchfields)

This was what it was supposed to be like. A gentle paddle around the lake in the evening.

At no point was a water fight mentioned (but it was fairly innevitable!). Check out the double canoe / fighting raft that appeared to be unsteerable and prone to filling up with water (mainly due to Roger!).

Allow us to help you in (suckers!). At this stage, it is worth noting the following:

  1. We used three boats all together. A double canoe and two normal canoes.
  2. There are people from the double canoe and one of the single canoes pictured on or around the jetty.
  3. All the people on or around the jetty are reasonably wet due to the water fight. Only reasonably wet mind.
  4. The two people in the canoe in the background think that they are clever. They avoided the water fight. They are dry

Pride comes before a soaking. They thought that they were being clever. They backed away from the jetty and the obvious risk of being made slightly wet with such vigour that they capsized and fell in. They were therefore completely soaked!

Good fun - Dan
